Monday, March 23rd

Boys and Girls State will be held the week of June 14th thru the 20th. Boys will be at Northwood University in Midland and girls will be at Michigan State University. Applications may be picked up in the office. Please turn them in to Mrs. Cheney by next Friday, March 27th.
 
The Hudson Science Olympiad team competed at the Regional Tournament this Saturday at Adrian College and placed 4th out of 9 teams. 
 
Third place medals went to Pierce Mitchell and Zach Edmonson in Wheeled Vehicle, Evelyn Calvo and Pierce Mitchell in Can't Judge a Powder, and Brad Hayes, Aiden Evans, and Evelyn Calvo in Picture This. Second place medals were awarded to Sukhman Parhar, Carson Price, Aiden Evans and Brad Hayes in Robo-Cross, Erika Grondin and Mikayla Bowen in Green Generation and Will Stiverson and Trey Romanowski in Bridge Building. Gold medals went to Erika Grondin and Alexis Lafollette in Bottle Rocket, Kennedi Price and Mya Shirey in Bridge Building, Aiden Evans and Zach Edmonson in Fossils, and Lyndsey Olson and Jenna Johnston in Write it Do it.  Not where we had hoped to finish this year, but still a good season.  Thank you to all the students that worked hard all season long.
 
Spring picture day is tomorrow, Tuesday March 24th.  Stop by the office if you need a picture packet.
 
Attention teachers, during 1st hour please take a count of all students that will be participating in spring picture day tomorrow morning and send your count to Mr. Larson before lunch so he can plan accordingly.
 
There will be a Segment 1 Drivers Training here July 6- 22 from 8-10am. The cost will be $260.00. Your birthday must be on or before November 6, 2000 to be eligible to take the class. Please sign up outside the HS office.
 
Attention Seniors, if you ordered from Herff Jones, there will be a meeting during 1st hour tomorrow, please wait to be called down to the media center.
 
 
Reminder that middle school track practice begins tomorrow at 2:50 in the high school gym.  We will be going outside and it will be cold, so dress for the weather.  You must have a physical form turned into the office to begin practice.

Any junior interested in boys state or girls state, please come to a meeting at 12:15 PM on Wednesday in the boys and girls club.

You are invited to the heights of Mount Olympus for this year’s prom to be held at The Landing in Tecumseh April 25.  Tickets will be on sale next week during lunch at the discounted price of $40.  After spring break tickets will be $45 each. Remember all class dues must be up to date to purchase prom tickets.
 
I’m sure you’ve heard about it, and now it is time for The Wizard of Oz.  Shows are Thursday – Saturday at 7 and Sunday at 3.  Saturday night there is an ice cream social after the show for an additional $5.  You will probably want to see this one more than once, so come early!
 
Middle school track team will meet in the cafeteria after school today.
 
This Friday is media day for all spring sports after school.  If you are in the play and are running track, please see Mr. Romanowski for your uniform top.  Please wear your own black shorts for pictures.

LISD TECH Center Culinary Arts Program takes State of Michigan Top Culinary Honor
 
Teams from across the state of Michigan came together this past weekend to compete in the annual Michigan ProStart Invitational located in Lansing, MI.  The LISD Culinary Arts team brought home the top prize by beating out 16 teams across state for the top honor and a trip to Disneyland to participate in the National ProStart Invitational.  Not only did they win a trip to Disneyland, but each student respectively earned $13,000 in scholarships to different Culinary & Hospitality schools across the nation.  The Culinary competition is a 60 minute competition with a team of 4 individuals and 1 alternate in which they have to produce a 3 course meal only utilizing 2 butane campfire stove tops.  No refrigerator, electrical or battery operated equipment is permitted.   The team consisted of Sierra Bloomer-Hudson, Isaac Jeffrey-Adrian, Kourtney Reynolds-Adrian, Katie Schibetta-Tecumseh, and Carson Musolf-Britton-Deerfield.
 
Thanks for honoring Sierra as she was an instrumental part of the team and she completed the dessert portion of our dishes.

Spirit Club and yearbook staff will be getting their group pictures taken for the yearbook during lunch.  Please report to Mrs. Cunningham’s room.
 
Key Club is sponsoring a Prom/Homecoming dress sale Monday March 30th from 4-8pm in the high school cafeteria. Buy/sell your gently used dresses, 5$ of all sales will go to community projects. If you are interested in selling you’re your dress please contact Takota Voelzke.
