Late in the day this past Friday the Michigan Supreme Court made a ruling that will expire Governor Whitmer’s executive orders. We have spent the weekend communicating with our county schools, professional organizations, and legal counsel to determine the impact that the supreme court decision will have on schools. At this time, it is not clear how this ruling will change our school protocols. Our plan for now, is to continue the Covid-19 protocols that have been put in place in Hudson Area Schools these past several weeks. This includes the newest state mandate that elementary students must wear masks during the school day. That will begin tomorrow. We will to work with other school districts and professionals in determining if and when this ruling will impact schools. We will inform you immediately when we have more information.
We apologize for the confusion and difficulties that these mandates and changes to the mandates have caused you and your family. It has been very difficult for all of us to keep up with the changes. We will continue to do our best to keep our students and staff safe while attempting to keep the school day as normal and positive as possible for our students.
